Book Break: The Secret Circle Marathon

            I just had my TV series marathon this weekend since I’ve got a little break from all the stressing stuff I’m currently busy about. I’ve great to know that another series created by L.J. Smith has been brought to the screen. I’ve been an avid fan of Vampire Diaries, the book and the TV series. Even though the TV series is way different from the plot in the book, I’m enjoying watching it as much as I’ve enjoyed reading the book.

I haven’t read any of the books in The Secret Circle series but I’m planning to read it pretty soon so I can’t any comments regarding alteration from the original plot in the book. But I could say that as the story progresses it’s getting better like the Vampire Diaries TV series. The characters are totally eccentric. They are also good looking and I could say that I love Adam here… Whew, he’s way gorgeous for me.  At first it’s not super interesting to me and I find it even lame at some point but it’s getting better and better as a new highlight has been shown. It’s just really sad that I have to wait more than a month to finally catch up in the rest of the episodes.

            This, this is one ultimate vampire themed book. It’s one of the best Young Adult books I’ve read so far. It gives an extraordinary twist to the mythological nature of vampire. I love the plot, it’s quite amazing and every scene is unpredictable. The writing is exceptional, and every detail was finely described. I love how the flashback parts get coordinated with the present scenes and it doesn’t jumble up and made me wonder on what’s going on.

            The romantic moments of Lenah and Rhode are very interesting even though it was emphasized in the flashbacks. It’s sad and yet it’s really romantic that Rhode sacrificed himself just so Lenah could attain her human body once again. Rhode is a very noble and a man of his words. I’m just disappointed that I only saw glimpses of him in this book. Lenah is one of the best female protagonists that I’ve known and come to love. She’s smart, brave and she could easily fit in with her environment even though the time she remembers has long been gone. The other characters are also exceptional with different sort of personalities that I can’t help not to notice. I’m just a little sceptical with Justin and Lenah’s relationship due to its rush.

            The climax part made my heart jump and I never foresee the events that’s about to happen. I’m just a little disappointed to meet the ending in a very fast rate although it’s an ending that made me crave for the sequel and I hope I could see more of Rhode in the rest of the series.

            I love it and this book appealed to me more than the first instalment does. And I can say that this book is way better and more exciting to read due its unexpected twist and turns than the first book. It’s a page turner and its 288 pages are still not enough for me and I’m still aiming for more.

            I feel so agitated at times to know more about the next scenes to come and it made me so excited to keep on turning on the pages. It’s hard to guess at times what could happen furthermore and sometimes it leaves me into an intersection of questions of where could the story take me. And I also love the time travelling part, especially when Tamsin travelled back in the Victorian era. It compromises trilling, suspense and action scenes that also piqued my attention.

            Tamsin had been a lovable character in the first book, but  in this instalment I got to know her more and see that she’d come to be matured enough to realize the answers to all the questions that have been bugging her. I’ve been able to dig more to know the side of the antagonists and I’m happy to finally be enlighten how crook they are.

            I truly enjoyed reading this book and I hope there could be more to the series because I really am in love with the series.

Crazy for Book Trailer: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

                I just got my copy of Shatter Me, and I’m excited to read it. I’ve read the synopsis and I find it interesting, so before the end of the year probably I’m done reading it even though my reading pace lately is quite slow due to a lot of activities going on with my life.  I only have a minimal amount of time to read and lost myself in the pages of a book.

            This is not what I expected it to be. When I posted this book as one of the copy that I have acquired, I got an abundant positive comments about this book, so I’ve been excited to read and find out about their positive comments about it and it registered to me that this book is one magical treat, but then I’m disappointed.

                                                                   

            This book talks about the dark side of angels, and a new kind of creatures that’s totally intriguing. They are the Siders, which are dead people but not so dead at all. It’s quite fast pace and some scenes are hard for me to take in. And there are parts that I also find irrelevant to the flow of the plot. It’s a long read, sometimes it piques my interest, sometimes I just want to put it down for a while. And another thing that really surprises me and makes me gawk is that there are tons of cuss, and even angels cuss.

            The characters are in the middle rank for me. Sometimes I find them pleasing and yet sometimes they are just there to irritate me. But in the end I realize that they are just a set of unique and intriguing characters and I had this pull toward them that I wanted to know them more and read more to learn more about them. I like Eden, she’s tough, strong, a good and determined leader.

            Even though the romance is quite short and a little bit dark, I still want to find out more about Az and Eden so probably I would be reading more of the series soon, ‘coz we never know, there might be some light to shed on the story soon.

Crazy for Trailer: Movie Trailer of Hunger Games

Instead for posting a book trailer that really surpass my taste I post a movie trailer of a movie adaptation from one of my favourite book which is Hunger Games.

I just saw the trailer a while ago, and as excited I could be for the movie Breaking Dawn I couldn’t fight to scream and giggle for my excitement for this movie and I will definitely watch this movie as soon as it open in the cinemas.
