SPIRIT BOUND BY RICHELLE MEAD BOOK REVIEW

Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

Publisher: Penguin

Publication Date: May 18, 2010

Pages: 489

Series: Vampire Academy book 5

Age Bracket: Young Adult

Synopsis: After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri’s birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir’s—and to her best friend, Lissa Dragomir. It's graduation, and the girls can’t wait for their real lives outside of the Academy’s cold iron gates to finally begin. But even with the intrigue and excitement of court life looming, Rose’s heart still aches for Dimitri. He's out there, somewhere.
She failed to kill him when she had the chance, and now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and she knows in her heart that he is hunting her. And if Rose won't join him, he won't rest until he's silenced her...forever.
But Rose can't forget what she learned on her journey—whispers of a magic too impossible and terrifying to comprehend. A magic inextricably tied to Lissa that could hold the answer to all of Rose's prayers, but not without devastating consequences. Now Rose will have to decide what—and who—matters most to her. In the end, is true love really worth the price?

A spectacular fifth book! After I’ve read Blood Promise, I keep on pondering what are the things that will going to happen in this book. I’ve joined different forums discussing our predictions on this installment. And when I’ve finally read it, I was so shocked to find out that most of my predictions occurred in the plot. I’ve been expecting that Spirit Bound will be very predictable since Richelle ended Blood Promise with a lot of possible plot scenes for this book. Well I found out that I was wrong and there’s more in the plot that I never see will happen and base on the flow of the story from the previous books, for me it’s impossible and yet it became possible. I thought that the whole this is about Rose saving Dimitri and digging more in the Spirit powers of Lisa. It’s very fast paced and my eyes had a hard time following those scenes and the next thing I know, Rose already succeeded.

In this book, the tragic, epic love story is still in the air. Definitely I cried along with Rose’s sorrow and I felt the sting of pain she felt. But in the other hand I still admire Rose for being so determine and having the guts to face Dimitri heads up. And oh the hot and sexy Dimitri, I still adore him even though he has to feel those excruciating emotions.

Like I said it was compose mainly of unexpected twists especially at the climax part that lead to a flourished cliff hanger ending. I have to give credit to Richelle for giving this book a very creative ending that readers will die for to get their hands on the final installment of Vampire Academy. This series is definitely worth investing your wealth for.

Oh my gosh I love this series. The past two books have been really hard to read since I'm such a Dimitri fan and I'm so nervous for the final book! The title alone is enough to drive me to panic:( I love the books that force you to be emotionally involved, and this is definitely one of those. Nice review!

Thank you that you liked my review. It's already October and two months before the release of Last Sacrifice and I'm so disappointed that there's no synopsis available yet. I guess the launching of the sixth book is going to be exciting.
